Saskatchewan Apprenticeship is committed to maintaining a responsive, industry-driven apprenticeship and certification system that meets labour market needs. In order to meet this mandate, we are raising one of our fees.
All SATCC offices will close at 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 21 in order to give staff members the opportunity to vote in the federal election. Under the provisions of the Canada Elections Act, employees who are eligible to vote are entitled to three consecutive hours for the purpose of casting their vote.

The SATCC and Saskatchewan Polytechnic are pleased to offer an Upgrading course for apprentices in the Sheet Metal Worker (SMW) trade beginning in October 2019.
The 8-week course is based on the latest Red Seal Occupational Standard and will be delivered online through Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) has issued sanctions against 22 construction electricians for engaging in academic misconduct while attending apprenticeship technical training.
Sanctions include the suspension and cancellation of journeyperson certifications for varying lengths of time, and the suspension of apprenticeships for varying lengths of time.
One hundred graduating high school students from 72 communities across Saskatchewan received Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Industry Scholarships this year.

The Government of Canada, through Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), is conducting an evaluation of the Canada Apprentice Loan (CAL) program.
ESDC has asked for the assistance of individuals who are currently or recently (within the last 4 years) registered in a Red Seal apprenticeship program.
Apprentices will no longer be eligible for the Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship, starting in 2019-20.
Moving forward, needs testing will be introduced for the Saskatchewan Advantage Scholarship.
