Karen Low

Department: Saskatchewan Polytechnic
Representing: Saskatchewan Polytechnic

Born, raised and life-long resident of Saskatchewan, there is no doubting Karen’s commitment to and passion for our province. Graduating from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (Finance major), she continued her learning with a diploma in credit management, and certification in logistics management. Her career has been varied, ranging from assistant director of a provincial loans program in La Ronge, to self employment as a business consultant. From 2009 to 2022, Karen was the President of Merit Contractors Association of Saskatchewan, a non-profit that provides benefit plans and related services to non-union contractors in all sectors.

At the end of 2022, Karen retired from her full-time job to re-discover self-employment but at a slower pace. She continues her connection with the construction sector as the point of contact for Merit Canada and works with her husband, a red seal Plumber, in their contracting business. Karen also serves as a Director on the Saskatchewan PolyTechnic Board.

While construction fills the majority of Karen’s waking hours, she also finds time to travel, attend horse shows with her daughter, and spend a good amount of time unwinding at their cottage in northern Saskatchewan.
