Indigenous Apprenticeship Liaison

The Indigenous Apprenticeship Liaison (IAL) supports Indigenous peoples across Saskatchewan who are interested in, entering, or currently participating in apprenticeship. Our goal is to increase Indigenous participation, retention, and completion in the skilled trades by providing culturally informed guidance, and resource navigation.

We provide support to:

  • Indigenous people interested in becoming an apprentice
  • Current Indigenous apprentices needing guidance or support
  • Employers seeking to hire or support Indigenous apprentices
  • Training providers, communities, or organizations working with Indigenous learners
  • Partner interested in Indigenous apprenticeship initiatives

Current and prospective apprentices can contact for support with:

  • Navigating apprenticeship and trade certification pathways
  • Understanding SATCC programs (like Indigenous Apprenticeship Initiative program), processes, and requirements
  • Accessing supports, accommodations, and learning resources
  • Addressing barriers that may affect training or employment
  • Building learning strategies, confidence, and skills for success
  • Staying on track toward apprenticeship completion and certification
