The following is a list of trades that are not offered in Saskatchewan but are available in the nearby provinces of Alberta and British Columbia. This list is provided as a part of Saskatchewan’s commitment to the New West Partnership agreement to support greater mobility for apprentices between British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. 👏 A huge congratulations to Sarah Kushniruk, Outstanding Journeypersons Award for Skin Care Technician!

Sarah's journey began in high school, inspired by her older brother in the trades and a cosmetology teacher who nurtured her passion for esthetics. Winning gold at Skills in Grade 12 solidified her path.

"This award makes me so grateful," Sarah shares. "I worked hard for years and never expected this recognition. I’m thankful to my family and my teacher, who believed in me every step of the way."

Now part of a talented team, Sarah continues to learn and refine her craft. Looking ahead, she hopes to be an advocate within her industry.

The Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) program gives high school students the opportunity to learn more about skilled trades career pathways and gain a head start on their skilled trades career, should they register as an apprentice after graduation.
