The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) has awarded Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) Industry Scholarships to 110 graduating high school students from 77 communities across Saskatchewan. “Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients who are on their way to long, successful, rewarding careers in our province,” Immigration and Career Training Minister Jeremy Harrison said. Effective July 1, 2024, the Hairstylist and Esthetician trade qualifier assessment fee (for domestically trained tradespeople) increases from $200 to $250. This is the first time the fee has increased since January 1, 2019. To remain financially sustainable, the SATCC must analyze costs annually and adjust fees accordingly. The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is soliciting proposals for the building of tiny homes in support of Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan. The SATCC has received funding to build a minimum of ten tiny homes. The SATCC will facilitate the funding and development of the initiative to provide skilled trades training opportunities and housing options within Indigenous communities. …
