Good luck to all the competitors at the 2021 Skills Virtual Competition! This week, apprentices, post-secondary students and high school students from across the province will showcase their skills in the skilled trade and technology sectors. They're also competing to represent our province at the Skills Canada Virtual National Competition in June.
While the competition typically takes place in locations open to the public across Saskatchewan, this year, due to the pandemic, competitors will participate individually from their own locations – whether it be their home, workplace, school or training facility.

One of the challenges of the Sask Youth Apprenticeship program is to complete the Young Worker Readiness Certificate course.
Inexperienced young workers are more likely to get hurt on the job and are less likely to know about employment standards than more experienced workers.
The course will help middle and high school students prepare for entry into the job market. It introduces workplace health and safety legislation, and workplace rights and responsibilities for employees and employers.
