COOK ONLINE/IN-CLASS HYBRID TRAINING – NEW!!
The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC), in cooperation with Saskatchewan Polytechnic, has developed a Cook apprenticeship technical training program that combines online theory learning with in-class practical training. Registered apprentices now have the opportunity to participate in the first delivery of Level One Online (Hybrid) training scheduled for January 9, 2017 to May 28, 2017.
A Guide to Course Content (GTCC) for Cook Online/In-class (Hybrid) training has been added to the Cook section of the SATCC website. The tuition is the same as the eight (8) week block release or day release training.
The GTCC describes the delivery method and indicates the topic and learning outcomes covered for each lesson. This hybrid training is a combination of online theory combined with in-class practical. The in-class practical portion will consist of five (5) weekends at a Saskatchewan Polytechnic campus; campus location will be determined closer to the delivery date.
The training is structured; the apprentices will be required to complete certain lessons between the five (5) scheduled weekends of their in-class practical training. The apprentices will receive 20 hours of in-class practical training in each of the scheduled weekend sessions for a total of 100 hours of practical training per level.
