Powerline Technician apprentices can self-register for technical training in MyATC for the 2026-27 training year, starting Tuesday, April 28, 2026. Some of this trades’ courses start in July, which is why registration opens early.
Apprentices are responsible for registering for any technical training they are eligible for. Technical training courses are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Once classes are released in MyATC, they remain open until they are either filled or cancelled due to lack of demand.
An important change to note: Employers/Joint Training Committees will be required to approve technical training registrations in MyATC.
When apprentices register for technical training, employers/Joint Training Committees will receive a notification via MyATC and must approve or decline the training apprentices have registered for. The seat will be held for apprentices for up to 10 business days – until the employer/Joint Training Committee approves the request and tuition is paid for. After 10 business days, if the request is not approved and/or tuition is unpaid, the seat may be released and become available to other apprentices. For more information on approving training requests, please review the Approving Apprentice Training Registrations – Employer knowledge article in MyATC Client Knowledge.
To self-register for training in MyATC, apprentices must meet the required hours of experience for their trade. Apprentices and employers/Joint Training Committees can find this information in the system by looking up program cases in “My Items” and selecting “Program Progress.”
For more information on registering for training, please review the Registering for Training knowledge article in MyATC Client Knowledge.
Apprentices are reminded to ensure their personal information on Saskatchewan Accounts is correct.
