Apply for Exams as a Trade Qualifier

Application Details

Once your Trade Qualifier application is approved, you can register for the certification exam. You will register for your written (and practical, if applicable) exam through MyATC. You must pass the written exam before being eligible for the practical exam. You must reside in Saskatchewan to be eligible to apply for the certification exam.

Exam attempts

Trade Qualifiers have a maximum of four attempts at a written exam and four attempts at a practical exam (if applicable).

Note: Trade Qualifiers who are not citizens or permanent residents have two attempts to pass the written exam and two attempts at the practical exam. Once an individual becomes a citizen or permanent resident, they may contact the SATCC to discuss further attempts.

• A period of three months must pass before a second exam attempt, but trade qualifiers can apply immediately for the exam through MyATC.
• If not successful on a third attempt, trade qualifiers will need to apply for upgrading before the next exam attempt through MyATC and once the prescribed upgrading is completed, they can apply again.
