Unsuccessful first Attempt

If the tradesperson is not successful on their first attempt, they must wait a period of three months before the next examination attempt. They can apply right away, but must choose a date off the examination schedule not less than three months from the date of the previous exam attempt:

  1. Register for an exam through MyATC.
  2. Exam fee – Please see the fee schedule.

Unsuccessful second or subsequent exams

If the tradesperson is not successful on the second or subsequent exam attempt, they will need to request upgrading before the next examination attempt and submit.

A request for upgrading through MyATC and the processing fee. Please see the fee schedule. Further instructions on applying for upgrading can be found in the MyATC Knowledge Centre. Once the upgrading has been completed, they will then apply for the next examination attempt.

saskatchewan youth apprenticeship (sya)

The Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) program gives high school students the opportunity to learn more about skilled trades career pathways and gain a head start on their skilled trades career, should they register as an apprentice after graduation.
