Apprenticeship Training Allowance (ATA) Rates Increasing

Starting July 1, 2023, the Apprenticeship Training Allowance (ATA) rate is increasing.

The ATA is a weekly amount given to apprentices who are actively receiving Employment Insurance (EI) and living at a second residence that is 50 kilometres or more away from their primary residence while attending technical training.

The rate will increase from $175 to $250 for apprentices whose primary residence is in the Northern Saskatchewan Administration District, and from $125 to $200 for apprentices living in southern Saskatchewan.

This increase will help address the rising costs some apprentices face when maintaining a second residence during apprenticeship training.

To apply for an Apprenticeship Training Allowance, complete the Training Allowance application through your MyATC account. For further help with the Apprenticeship Training Allowance application, visit the MyATC Knowledge Centre, email [email protected] or call the SATCC toll-free at 1-877-363-0536.
