Fee Updates
The Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC) is committed to maintaining a responsive, industry-driven apprenticeship and certification system that meets labour market needs. To meet this mandate, the SATCC is raising apprenticeship fees.
These increases enable us to continue providing clients with high-quality services and help ensure the long-term sustainability of the apprenticeship and certification system of training in Saskatchewan.
Affected Fees:
- Effective January 1, 2023:
- Tuition fees increase from $105 to $110 per week;
- Apprenticeship registration fees increase from $200 to $250;
- Written exam and exam review fees increase from $125 to $175; and
- Clients will be charged for their first attempt on the journeyperson certification exam.
Why:
- To remain financially sustainable, the SATCC must analyze costs annually and adjust fees accordingly.
- Fee increases are necessary to ensure we can continue providing excellent, timely services to our clients.
When:
- Fee changes are effective January 1, 2023.
Who Does It Affect?
- Apprentices are impacted by these fee increases – new apprentices registering with the SATCC and apprentices attending technical training.
- Apprentices and trade qualifiers seeking to take an exam or have an exam reviewed are also impacted.
