Mobile Crane Operators operate many types of hoisting equipment to move, place and position items.
What do Mobile Crane Operators do on the job?
- Operate mobile cranes, boom trucks, hoists and tower cranes to lift, move, position or place equipment and materials.
- Perform pre-operational inspection, and calculate crane capacities and weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting.
- May be responsible for the assembly of mobile cranes, boom trucks, hoists and tower cranes on site.
- Perform routine maintenance work, such as cleaning and lubricating cranes.
Sub-Trades
Normally individuals specialize in one of the Mobile Crane Operator sub-trades.
