SASKATCHEWAN APPRENTICESHIP AND TRADE CERTIFICATION COMMISSION TRAINING PARTNERS

Apprentices self-register for technical training through MyATC.

Following are the training providers for most of Saskatchewan’s apprentices:

MAIN TRAINING PROVIDER:

Saskatchewan Polytechnic – Saskatchewan Polytechnic is the training provider for the majority of Saskatchewan’s apprentices. There four main campuses located at Prince Albert, Saskatoon, Moose Jaw and Regina.

ADDITIONAL TRAINING PROVIDERS:

Western Trade Training Institute (WTTI) – Training for the crane and hoist operating trades is delivered at locations around the province by WTTI.

Southeast College (SEC) – SEC delivers training to Saskatchewan’s Powerline Technician apprentices.

SED Systems – All Electronic Assembler apprentices are trained at the SED Systems facility on the University of Saskatchewan campus in Saskatoon

Saskatchewan Tourism Education Council (STEC) – Apprenticeship training in the Food and Beverage Person trade and the Guest Services Representative trade is provided at a number of locations in the province.

Lotus Learning Solutions – Scaffolder training for registered apprentices is provided at their Saskatoon and Regina training facilities.

Insulators Union – Insulator apprenticeship training is delivered in Regina.

Suncrest College – Some apprenticeship training for Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) classes is offered at Suncrest College in Esterhazy.

CITREC – Through IMMSKILLS, clients can apply to have foreign documentation assessed for preliminary credit. Final approval is completed by the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission.

University of Saskatchewan – The University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon delivers Landscape Horticulturist training.

Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) has  Joint Training Committee functions. This allows them to work directly with clients to access apprenticeship training.

There are other Saskatchewan organizations and training institutions that provide pre-trades training, such as Regional Colleges, Regina Trades and Skills Centre, Saskatoon Trades and Skills Centre, Gabriel Dumont Institute and industry associations.

A few apprentices also take training outside of Saskatchewan. For further information, please refer to the Designated Trades.

saskatchewan youth apprenticeship (sya)

The Saskatchewan Youth Apprenticeship (SYA) program gives high school students the opportunity to learn more about skilled trades career pathways and gain a head start on their skilled trades career, should they register as an apprentice after graduation.
